Solution
Frause designed and implemented a detailed launch plan, providing media relations, strategic communications, and events and logistics support. During the same time period, Frause designed a full website and accompanying blog, profiling the inaugural grantees, including scope of investments and creation of individual grantee profiles and blogs. Frause also developed a media plan, including key messages, press kits, eight regional media releases announcing $2.4 million in grants; and coordinated 13 launch events across the state. Additionally, Frause worked in partnership with Washington STEM board members, investors and grantees to ensure Washington STEM’s launch plan fulfilled key requirements and goals for each stakeholder.
Outcomes/Results
Washington STEM launched with tremendous success. The Washington STEM website went live on March 5, coinciding with the online posting of a Seattle Times editorial, which also appeared in the Sunday print edition. On March 7, Washington STEM kicked off a week of giving with the announcement of 15 inaugural grants at 13 press events across the state, coordinated and staffed by Frause. The events resulted in over 107 print, broadcast and online media hits during launch week, including coverage from every major outlet in the state.
