Luc Restaurant Media Relations

Thierry Rautureau is an iconic Seattle chef who has owned and operated one of the Northwest’s most esteemed restaurants since 1987. At Rover’s, diners are treated to tour de force tasting menus that showcase the freshest regional ingredients prepared using classical French technique. In 2010, Rautureau opened his second restaurant, Luc. A casual French-American bistro, Luc serves classic French comfort food with slight influences from North Africa. Frause worked with Rautureau and his sales and marketing manager, Siri Angeles, to help tell the Luc story to the local and national media. The press outreach campaign focused on the unique way in which Rautureau raised capital for the project, the delectable food and beverages served at Luc, and Rautureau’s evolution as a chef and restaurateur.

Solution

In addition to distributing a grand-opening press release to key media, Frause also sent targeted pitches to freelance writers, local and national magazine editors, bloggers and TV producers.

Outcomes/Results

From six months prior to Luc’s opening in April 2010 until the present, Frause has secured a steady stream of media coverage for the restaurant. Glowing reviews appeared in every local publication, and national outlets such as Eater.com have also written positively about the restaurant.
